Dear friends and family,
I am so sorry for the very long gap in my updates. The only excuse I have is that it was summer and I was busy! The first part of my trip I had a lot of alone time and plenty of opportunities to write and share pics. Once summer arrived things got very social - I had people traveling with me, got lots of visitors in Montana, then I was home for a few weeks for some family time where I waited for the wildfires to settle in the Pacific Northwest. Unfortunately, it was a bad year for them. I had to give up on my original plans and create a new path to the West Coast, but no worries, there is beauty and wonder at every turn and I have truly loved the places I found along the new route and the friends I met along the way that I know I will see again.
So, I left you at Week 8 (again, I am so sorry!). I have not sent any emails since then, so you haven’t missed anything. What I have done though is got that website up and running with my son so we can post old and new updates there, as well as pics and videos, so we no longer have to worry about spam filters and spacing issues.
One of my friends recently read all my weekly updates for the first time and said it was like binging a Netflix special, so if you missed any or all, you can jump on there and check them out. I’ll add Week 9 and 10, which were already written but never sent, next week. Then we’ll call that a Season 1 wrap.

Not sure how I’ll handle the Summer Update, but stay tuned for info on that.
In the meantime, let me give you a Season 2 sneak preview – pics below of Week 22- I finally hit the Pacific and boy was it worth it.
Fort Bragg – Like you see in the movies. Wow.
Glass Beach – This beach is all sea glass. It was a dump for 50 years. People would throw trash and old automobiles over the cliff. In 1967 they removed major debris and let the ocean waves churn the rest, leaving us with this. Fascinating.
Mendocino – My town for the week, on a cliff by the sea. Precious.
Route 1 – I drove 90 minutes north to try to do that Drive thru Tree thing. Unfortunately, I paid $20 bucks and then my car wouldn’t fit in it, but at least I got this pic on the way home. Breathtaking.
Amazed at all the beauty I continue to see every day. I’ll update the site and email again when I can.
